回国的心情

美国时间，2009年9月30，晚上8点，正式踏上返回马来西亚的路程，也意味着四个月半的美国之旅正式画上句点。此时此刻，心里突然觉得有开心又不舍得。开心的是可以回马来西亚吃道地的美食还有和家人团聚，不舍得的是就要离开美国这片美好的土地，到底是喜悦还是悲哀，我自己也不清楚。说真的，回马来西亚的路程真的是好累，有时想到需要坐那么长时间的飞机，甚至想放弃回马来西亚的念头。甭提待机时间，光是在飞机上就用了整整20小时左右。真是痛苦的飞机之旅。

抵达纽约JFK机场差不多是9点左右，而我的班机是10月1号，凌晨6点。那一夜，我就像流浪汉，在纽约机场呆了8小时左右，到处闲逛，也没有无线上网可以用，真的是有够惨。逛得累了，就在一个角落躺下睡着了，刚刚要进入梦乡，就被机场巡逻员叫醒，叫我到麦当劳那休息。想要休息一下都不可以。。haiz... 时间一秒一秒的流失，终于到了凌晨6点，也就是我离开‘大苹果’城市，飞往三藩市的时间。一到三藩市，第一件事就是先解决早餐，吃了碗日本乌东面，然后就直接倒转机处长了一排凳子就呼呼大睡，因为又要等三个小时左右才能从三藩市飞往香港。

3个小时也挨过了，一上联合航空的飞机，真的是很失望因为没有个人电视，服务又超烂，空姐年龄也应该跟我妈年龄差不了多少，飞机餐竟然吃快熟面。算了吧，还是认命吧，便宜的航空是这样的。不过唯一令我开心的是。。我旁边两个座位都没人，也就是说我可以横躺睡觉了，太棒了！！我在飞机上的十三个小时就是吃和睡，跟猪简直没分别。好不容易挨过十三个小时，飞机终于在香港时间10月2号，傍晚6点30分降落。

一出香港海关，就去兑换了一些港币打算到城市去溜达，怎知，香港的消费跟纽约是不相上下的，结果就取消念头呆在机场算了。。哇靠！！我的班机是10月3号，早上9点，也就是说我要在机场呆13小时左右，妈的，今晚又睡机场了，想冲凉，但又不舍得花RM75去冲一次凉，干脆直接忍到家才冲吧。。幸好香港机场有免费无线上网，就索性上msn找朋友闲聊打发时间。直到困了就在长凳小睡一会儿，就这样，我又在香港机场睡了一晚。其实我也蛮佩服自己的，连续两晚都在机场过夜，呵呵！！！

一觉醒来，大概是五六点左右吧，就到处逛想找些东西填饱肚子，结果就看到一件香港茶餐厅大排长龙，就进去吃了。填饱肚子就check in行李，然后就去待机处等待飞回马来西亚的班机。心里也在期盼着国泰航空的飞机到底是怎样的。。时间一分一秒的流逝，终于到了登机时间，一上机。。靠！！国泰航空的机舱真是比联合好多多，空姐又漂亮可爱，食物又一流，就这样四个小时我都没睡着，哈哈！！国泰航空--〉赞！！！

终于飞机于10月3号，中午12点左右降落于吉隆坡国际机场，我终于到达马来西亚了。全程50小时（包括待机时间）的路程，真有够累的！！！一出海关就去领行李，等了一下下，终于领到我的行李也准备离开，怎知，行李箱被航空公司弄坏了，真xxx的，害我又得浪费时间去投报，出到机场也已经一点左右了，就直接到吉隆坡吃午餐，顺便想修理我新买的Guess手表，那知周末没营业，就等下次再来吧！！直到晚上，跟我姐去载我弟了才直接回家。抵达麻坡也已经是十一点左右，一到家，把行李都扔在客厅就跑去冲凉了，整50小时没冲凉，超不爽的！！

由于气候的关系，回到马来西亚就大病一场，还到医院抽血检验是否感染H1N1，幸好不是。每天就是吃药，睡觉，一直处在昏昏沉沉状态直到今天才康复90%。。不过时差问题倒是把我整死了，每天清晨5点就自动起身。。。靠！！简直要我的名，希望能快点适应马来西亚时间吧！！若时间允许，小弟会把西雅图和纽约之旅写在下一篇文章！！！

Addicted to online shopping since my 1st order from eastbay.com..My 1st online shopping item is Nike Free Sparq 09 which was my 22nd birthday present for myself since nobody send me gift...:-(...the shoes cost me around USD 100 included shipping charges, i think is quite expensive, but nvm, it was my present and it is really comfortable...

After my 1st order, i introduced eastbay.com to 1 of my best friends, and he was addicted too and keep asking me to buy something for him...haha...:-)..feel bad coz make him addicted...My 2nd order is 2 converse basketball shoes ( USD 29.99 each), Jordan Slippers and Reebok basketball shoes and also samsonite toiletry kit. When i received my 2nd order, i am so excited, but 1 more thing make me more happy is eastbay make a mistake on my order, i purchased 2 converse shoes which cost USD 29.99 each, but they sent me Jordan Pure Pressure shoes which launched on year 2009 and cost USD 99.99...Such a lucky case still will happened on me, i am so happy...i only pay for usd 29.99 to get usd 99.99 jordan shoes ( 2 pairs some more, untung usd 140 for 2 shoes..haha)...hope my lugguage can fit all of the things i bought and i am going to buy a samsonite in outlet soon to put all my shopping items...hehe...

It was so tired to become a dishwasher in Kennicott Glacier Lodge, but it was totally changed in my mind since yesterday. 3 dishwashers ( me, mehmet, vagif ) received best present from our employer, Kirkwood family and we feel very surprised after they showed us the present..Actually is not a valuable present, but i can say it is priceless for us and i can sure we will keep this present in our life till they day we leave the world...We are the only 3 staff from lodge who received this t-shirt..:-)..really feel happy about this...my hardwork in here doesn't wasted...hehe...

Everything was happend since we created our own slogan for dishwasher which is KGL DWT, stands for Kennicott Glacier Lodge dishwasher team, and our slogan is FEEL IT ! LIVE IT! WASH IT ! NEVER ENDS!... and this slogan always say by us all the time...

Yesterday after finished dinner time, our supervisor ask 3 of us to gather at one side of the kitchen and show us a serious face, we are wondering what wrong with us, but suddenly she show us the t-shirt which were printed our slogan, our name and also our picture on the shirt...At that moment, i feel very touched about what they give us and although is just a normal t -shirt, but it make all of us very happy...thank you Jeannie for yor suggestion to the Kirdwood family and thanks to Richard, Jody, Christina and Katherine, my employer family...I really appreciate what you give us....

Ice Climbing & Looking for Ice Cave Day

It has been long time that i didn't update my blog already due to tiring of working and the laziness of me..:-)..By the way, i am here again to update my blog and don't worry everybody, i am still alive in Alaska..At this moment, i think that quite alot of my friends are waiting for my life in Alaska and sorry for let you guy wait for a long period...:-)

Went for ice climbing and ice cave last month, it was fun, but it was really tired also..1st time i tried ice climbing in my life and i think is my last time as well. It looks like danger, but actually it is not danger at all because we do alot of safety precautious. What you need is strong legs and arms, but i don't have both of this, so is tough for me...At 1st i am quite worry about it coz it seems quite difficult, but after trying to climb, it is not so difficult as i imagined before. Due to i am a noob climber, i slipped down few times and i was hanging on the rope...But anywhere it was nice experience for me...

Looking for ice cave is another activity that i went with my best friends here, it was really danger and my legs were cramped on the way coming back to my lovely home, and i was hang over on the rock mountain and can't move at all. I was thinking that i might lost my life there, but finally my friends came to save me and carried me to the top of rock mountain..thanks for saving my life again...Anywhere, we able to look for 1 ice cave, and i enjoyed myself although i almost lost my life that time...

Tiring Day

Went to glacier hiking with friend by bicycle last thursday during the break time, it was so tired coz we need to rush back. Although it was so tired, but we really enjoy it. This is the 1st time i went to glacier myself and we only using one crampon to walk on glacier because i left my crampon on bicycle, so we 2 ppl share 1 pair of crampon, it was so dangerous..lolx...Went to glacier ourself is fun because we can do some crazy activity there, maybe nex time i will try to jump into glacier water...hehe..:-)...

After enjoying, i need to rush back to work as chef assistant and it was so tired for me. Chef assistant is a nice position because i can do alot of stuff which is more interesting then dishwasher..hehe..:-)...I cooked vegetarian food for customers and actualy it is a simple job for me because all of the ingredients already prepared by my supervisor, so i just "goreng" only...hehe...

Suppose going to ice climbing today, but too bad there is no schedule today, so will stay in home and sleep for whole day after updating my blog..anywhere 1 month more to go i will enjoy my USA trip...Looking forward this day and also looking forward my Taipei trip on Nov 14....

My Summer Home in Alaska

Work for 6 days for past few weeks and it was so tired..don't know why, even if my off day, i also feel tired..haiz...9 more weeks to go, i don't know i can suffer till that time or not, is really tired and i start to miss my friends and my family in Malaysia..I wish that doraemon is available in this world now, so that i can adjust the time to September, but it is impossible...anywhere, i will try my best to complete my job here...On the other hand, i am so happy that my parents allow me to go Taipei with my friends on November, hope our plan will keep going and i am looking forward this day....So lazy to type here, just wanna to show my summer house in Kennicott, "ghost town"...

Homesick

Homesick?? Why I don’t have this kind of feeling since I leave my lovely home for 1 month more already..and what is the feeling of homesick, can anybody tell me….Am I abnormal???? I had been away from Malaysia since 16 May 2009 and until now i only call one time to my parent and it was 1 month ago..All of my friends were shocked when they know that I only call once to my parents since I leave them around 1 month more alreadyand maybe it is time for me to call my parents again and let them know I am all right here..And I don’t know when the time I going back to my home, they still recognize me or not…

Agnes or Ven, if u are reading my blog, please let mum and dad and also grandmum know I am fine here..and the job here is getting busy nowadays because peak season is coming, and sometimes is really tired till feel wan to quit, but anywhere, I will suffer until the last day..i won’t so easy give up since I choose to come here for a new experience..1 more thing that I want to let u all know is my “spare tyre” on the stomach already disappear…all of the jeans I brought from Malaysia are become looser..i don’t know is good news or bad news because I not really use to the food here, and I never had a full meal before…(my waist is 31 before I came to Alaska, and now is 29 or less..omgg….) I suggest those who want to lose their weight, it is a nice place for u to come…but once I back to Malaysia, 1st thing I want to do is gain back my weight…:p..

All my friends, if u are reading my blog, hope u all doing well in Malaysia…I will find u all to wet again once I back to Malaysia and don’t worry, I will quarantine myself for few days before finding u all, in case u all kena swine flu and blame pula..:p…for those who are going to attend convocation on August, hope u all enjoy there and it is sad that I cannot join u all, but if I postpone my convo to next year, all of u mus come for it..:p.…for those who are going oversea soon, wei chen—all the best in aus and maybe 1 day I will go aus find u and make sure u sponsor my expenses ar.haha…nee nee—I know u september only go for uk, but still wish u all the best in UK, if u pay for all my expenses in UK, maybe I will give u a big surprise when ur 21st birthday .. :p..haha….

Glacier Hiking Day

Went to glacier hiking on my last off day, it was a new experience for me coz i won't be able to try it in Malaysia and the feeling of walking on the ice was amazing..hehe..it is really nice to stay in Alaska coz u can try alot of new things that u cant find it in Malaysia..My next target will be ice climbing..hehe...and hopefully i can make it and wont slip down from the ice wall...

My Working Situation

Omggg…today is Thursday again le, means tomorrow I need to start my work again…haizzz…..Since I am so free right now, I will update my working look and some of my working situation in the working place as I promised in previous blog..

My job in Kennicott Glacier Lodge(KGL) is a dishwasher (but got a lame friend dun believe me that I am a dishwasher, dun under estimate me coz I am type of man that can enjoy till crazy and also suffer till crazy one…:-p ) and sometimes will become prep cook when my colleague is off duty..Dishwasher is a tough job for me because I need to stand for 8 to 10 hours everyday without having a chance to sit down and let my legs rest a while and most of the time I will work from 9am to 1pm and 5pm to 10pm, during the off period is the only chance to let my hands and legs rest for a while, but once the off period is over, I will wash those dishes till crazy because all the kitchen stuff and plates will put in basin there like a mountain and everytime I almost fainted when see all of those stuff…haiz.. …although we have washing machine here to help us clear the oily and greasy stuff, but we still need to clean all the plates before put into the machine, but most of the time, I just simply clean it then put into machine already because I am not the one who use for it…:-p…( if my boss read my blog, I will be fired immediately..hahaha)

Another new experience for me is “America food is SUX”…I missed home cook food and Malaysia food so much because here the food is so hard to put in mouth. Most of the food here is eating with fresh without cooking such as vegetable, ham slide, turkey meat slide and roasted beef slide, all is having it with fresh and without cooking….is so geli and disgusting ….Moreover, my breakfast and lunch menu is the same from 19th May 2009 until today. My breakfast are include pancakes, eggs, sausage and as for my lunch menu are ham slide, turkey slide, roasted beef slide, tomato, lettuce, onion, bread, cheese and we will use all this stuff to make our own burger....and I still need to eat for 3 months more…IT IS GOING TO KILL ME SOON……the only food that change everyday in my lunch menu is the soup…Lonce I back to Malaysia, the first thing I want to do is go to Bentayan and eat until full full…who want to join me…:-p....Luckily the dinner menu that we are having it is changing everyday and most of the time we enjoy the same dinner menu with customers, hahaha….or else I will dead for sure. I like the dinner time coz we can eat salmon fish, steak, and sometimes we will have dessert after dinner time..it is so nice…hehe…..Anywhere I want to say thank you X unlimited to Siau Chen Tan that post a lot of instant food to me coz u are the only one that know my situation here…haha…looking for the arriving of your mail package…hehe..:-) ..and as I promised, I will write ur name in mountain of Alaska…wakaka….

River Rafting....

I love Wednesday and Thursday so much because it is my off day after 5 days work…and today is Wednesday, huiyo…..Suppose I will update my working situation as I mentioned in the previous blog, but since today there is something different happen in my life, I will postpone my working situation in nex blog…hehe..

Today I spent USD 80 for river rafting, and at the moment of paying the money, I was thinking is it worth for it because it is around RM 280 for few hours only...But after river rafting, I can only use 1 word to describe it which is AMAZING…..it is so excited to having this kind of activity which I never try in Malaysia before, and I love it so much..It is hard to describe the situation during the river rafting and u will only know the feeling when u sit on the boat and try for it. At first I was quite worry about it because I duno how to swim and what should I do when I felled into water…L..and once the boatman start to move the paddle for few minutes, my stress was totally released because of the skill of boatman is so good…he tried to bring us to those area which is big wave and it was so fun when the big wave hit on the boat, is such like sitting the roller coaster, but u will get wet after the big wave and the water is freaking cold….my hand are freeze and numb after few times of big wave…but it is NICE…it is so sad that I cant take the photo while sitting on the boat because of the unstable situation…

And we were going for hiking for a while and I saw the footprint of the bear…but unfortunately I cant see the bear…haiz..:-( ….and I even leave my name in the sand by using stone and the sand is so smooth and the water is clear and clean and I oso leave 1 lame queen name on the sand…hahaha..At last, we had safely completed our river rafting and prepared to go back to KGL..it was another fresh thing that I never try in Malaysia which is sitting on a small plane and view the scenery.. my life is so wonderful here and I ever travelled with a big plane which is United Airline, a medium size plane which is Airasia and now I had tried the small size plane which is the plane that send me back to KGL..and maybe next time I should try rocket and my life will be completed without regret…

After a wonderful river rafting, what I can say is nice and wonderful and I feel that our life is like sitting on a boat… As a boatman, need to decide whether to take the risk by go through the big wave or not and once u pass through the wave, there are only 2 possibilities which are u will fall into water or get the satisfaction after the wave. So maybe it is time for me to take some risks after going back to Malaysia. And wave is look like the process of our life, high and low and once u pass the low and calm period, there will be high wave waiting for u and on the other hand, once u pass the high wave, low and calm situation is waiting for your coming…that’s all for my update today….

My 1st Wages and Tips in USA....

I am here again to update my latest news in Kennicott Glacier Lodge, Alaska. My mood was quite down few days ago because of the internet speed. Until now, I only knew that there are limited usage for the internet in my place and because of over limit ( too much of pps and meetoto), my internet speed was reduced by the noob isp from 1mbps to 0.1mbps…WTH is it….and luckily the speed is getting better this few days. And now I need to control my usage of internet because if one more time over limit, owner of wireless is not going to let me use his wireless again…L…cant pps ady…sigh…

But yesterday is a wonderful day for me because I gt my 1st wages and tips in USA le…It is so nice….I worked for 2 weeks and the wages is around USD 500++ and the tips is USD 120…huiyooooooooo…..I am rich if I am in Malaysia now….hahaha…But..still need to pay my brother and sister for borrowing money to come USA…sad thg again…haiz…

As for today, the job is freaking tired although there are 1 more dishwasher right now, i worked for 2 position today, which are chef helper and dishwasher, but only take 1 salary..:-(….Woke up at 6am to start my job and worked for 10 hours…Omggg…is so tired..But once I think that can travelling in September, everything is worth for it….:-)

Is time for me to rest le...will update my work place and my uniform look in the next blog.......^^..

A QuiCk UpDate...Going To BaR In McCarthy...

Nowadays my job is getting easier then before ady because another dishwasher is coming to Kennicott Glacier Lodge ady. Before the new dishwasher coming, the job is going to kill me and my hand is non stop washing the plates for 8 hours, and sometimes i even think of give up, but finally i able to cope with this. Today my job is freaking relax during the nite time, both of us(me and another dishwasher) were staring each other because we are too free. There were no plates for us to wash at all, because there were only 8 customers came for dinner in the lodge. I am so happy with it...^^.. And today is the 1st time that i finished my job at 9pm, before that i usually finished my job at 10pm or later...hehe.. But sometimes i am quite happy to work in kitchen coz we have special food from the chef that other collegues dun have...^^..the supervisor is so nice to us, always give us some special dessert during the dinner time...^_^

After that, i went to the McCarthy Bar with collegues and i was wondering how the bar look like in this super rural area...As i expected, the bar is so lousy, is just for drinking and chatting for us...haiz...I even duno how to describe the bar...i miss malaysia night life...i miss poppy garden and luna bar...lolx...Btw i need to wai until October only gt the chance to go for Malaysia nightlife...All my frenzs must wait for me ya....:-p....

The weather nowadays is making me so moody coz eveyday is raining day and it is freaking cold, i am wearing 2 clothes and cover 3 blankets during the nite time, but i still will feel cold during the morning time. Yesterday i missed something that i dun have chance to see in Malaysia which is SNOWING....Omggg.....I so wish to see it but i missed it ady coz i was sleeping during the snowing time...haiz...hope will have another chance to see it...

**Okla...that is the short update from me...tomorow have to work at 9am again...haiz..

My Journey To Alaska

16th May, it was the day that i leave my lovely country Malaysia and started my Work & Travel USA programme...The day before my departure date, i was having my farewell with all my best friends and that day is the 1st time i drunk until cant even walk, need people to carry me all the way, btw, thx for those who carry me during my farewell and for the person who make me drunk, i sure will rmb u de...:-) I was looking forward for this day since i registered as a WAT student and it is out of my expectation, the journey was almost take my life coz it is freaking tired..My 1st transit airport is in Changi airport, and the time in Changi airport was moved like 'tortoise', i reached there around 10.30pm and my nex flight was 7am..WTHhh...i need to wait for around 9 hours without any entertainment, and the worst thing is the flight was delayed...shit!!! and i didn’t slp all the nite..:-(...

While in the aircraft, i oso dun sleep while because of the seat is so uncomfortable and the stewardess for United Airline are so old, and i think some even can be my mum ady--so my advise to all of u is dun ever take United Airline...the life in the plane was so boring, and i only slp and eat and slp again.

Coz of the Nut United Airline delay the flying time, when i reached my 2nd transit airport-Narita, Japan, i had to rush for the next flight and caused me dun even have time to take a photo in Japan, which is 1 of my desire country...it is SUX....and finally i reached my 3rd transit airport in USA--Seattle Airport around 12pm, and our next flight to Anchorage is 9pm. I need to wait for another 9 hours..Oh My Godness....

Due to the tiredness, i decided to go for the hostel in pike town, and we took taxi to go for it, it cost me USD 45 for taxi fare...WTffffff...it is around RM 150 for a 20 minutes distance...Btw, my 1st impression of American is they are so nice. The hostel that we take a short rest name Green Tortoise Hostel, owner of the hostel is so nice. According to the plan, we will take walk around in the pike town, but unfortunately, coz of the time difference between Malaysia, i was so so so tired and fall aslp in the hostel..if gt chance i would like to go for Seattle 1 more time for holidays...
Finally the time for our flight to Anchorage is nearer, this time we take a bus to airport and only cost us USD 1.75 like tat, it is so much difference with USD 45…swt..During the check in to the flight, it is so troublesome for USA custom, we need take out our shoes, take out laptop everythg and only can pass the gate..haiz..the only thg I hate for USA is the custom…After 3 hours flight, we reached Anchorage and it was so lucky that Charles picked us up in the airport and we stayed in their house for 1 night before going to Kennicott…thx so much for picked us up in airport and let us slp in ur house..:-)..From Malaysia to Anchorage, it took me around 37 hours including the transit period in airport…it is SUX…..

It is so sad that I need to wake up early for the next day coz need to apply social security and open a bank account..haiz..and finally I started my journey to kennicott on 12pm and it was a long journey for me again, it took me 8 hours more to reach my final destination…but on the way we took a lot of photo and enjoy the nice scenery which is impossible to see in Malaysia….
